My Ex-Boyfriend Agreed to Meet Up

Saying your ex agreed to meet up suggests you’re the one who reached out. If you reached out to your ex-boyfriend to meet up and he agreed, hang tight. It’s way too early to make any assumptions about anything. Especially your future with your ex-boyfriend.

Why did you ask your ex-boyfriend to meet up?

Before your meeting, spend some time thinking about why you’re meeting up with your ex-boyfriend. What was the reason you reached out?

Why do you think your ex agreed to meet up with you?

When your ex said yes to the meeting, why? What do you think his intentions are? Think about how your recent conversations went. That should provide some insight into what you should expect at the meeting.

When your ex-boyfriend agrees to meet, observe his body language.

When you meet up with your ex-boyfriend, be mindful of his body language. It will reveal unconscious clues as to how he’s feeling.

Body language reveals so much more than a text message or phone call. Sometimes it can be the missing puzzle piece you need in understanding how your ex-boyfriend is feeling during his meeting with you.

Establish your goal behind meeting up with your ex-boyfriend.

It can be nerve-wracking to meet up with your ex-boyfriend. Sometimes the conversation can be derailed. The last thing you want is to argue. Keep things positive with him.

To help, think of your goal when you meet up with your ex. Such as, “My goal is to establish good terms.”

Keep your goal in mind, and don’t stray from it if things start going unplanned. Stay respectful no matter what.

Don’t engage in conflict. Don’t stray from your goal. You’re already Googling your ex-boyfriend, so he must matter to you. Protect that with a clear goal that you’ll keep front and center in your mind.

When I talk to my ex, I think, “my goal is to feel happy about this conversation in a year from now.”

I don’t want to say anything I’ll regret or act in ways that will make me look bad to my ex. Feel good about the conversation and keep your integrity with a strong goal.

Anticipate saying goodbye after meeting with your ex.

What are you comfortable with? Are you comfortable with a hug? Are you hoping for a kiss? Or are you hoping for zero physical contact whatsoever?

Think about how you’d like that goodbye to go. I feel most people go in for a hug. If you’re uncomfortable with that idea, you may want to lead the way on the goodbye.

Overall, it’s ok to meet up with your ex-boyfriend. It’s a good thing he agreed to meet up with you. Just manage your expectations, stay true to your goal, and maintain your inner peace and integrity. You can do this, dear reader!
