If your ex-boyfriend is changing, you must support him during his transformational period. Perhaps he is on a journey of self-growth. This doesn’t mean he’s no longer in love with you, or he doesn’t care about you anymore.
It might mean he really listened to you. Your ex-boyfriend changing into a different person is usually a good thing. Who he was before didn’t mesh well with you. That’s why he’s your ex.
Consider that when these changes start to feel weird. Remind yourself that who he was before just didn’t work well enough for you.
The only constant about life is change.
Change is weird. It can be hard. There’s no doubt about it. And watching your ex-boyfriend transform can hurt, unlike any other changes you’ve experienced in the past.
But see, dear reader. You’ve experienced changes in the past. And you’ve survived.
You’ll also experience changes in the future.
You’d even be experiencing changes if you stayed with your ex! He’d still change throughout the relationship. And so would you.
Don’t judge the moment.
I heard this wonderful quote in an audiobook from Jay Shetty called “Think Like a Monk.”
He spent time as a monk in a Buddhist monastery where he learned a motto called, “don’t judge the moment.”
The changes your ex-boyfriend is experiencing may feel strange now. But only in this moment.
There is a greater reason your ex-boyfriend is changing. What if it’s you who gets to one day enjoy these positive changes?
If you judge the moment too much right now, you may not see envision the future clearly.
Surrender, dear reader. Trust that this will play out how it’s supposed to. If it’s not you who enjoys the changes your ex is experiencing, it’s going to be human that does.
His change will help the world. Your changing will help the world. We can all make slow changes to ourselves that will ripple out into the cosmos and stretch across the universe.
Get inspiration from your ex-boyfriend changing.
Do your part to grow in positive ways, too. If you see your ex-boyfriend changing, he will notice if you start changing!
Focusing on yourself isn’t selfish. Your ex knows that.
Compliment him if you’re on good terms. Tell him you’ve noticed his growth if you feel comfortable.
It might be just what you need to feel better about seeing him change.
Are you insecure about your ex-boyfriend changing?
Remember, a goal in life is to want the best for everybody. Even our ex-boyfriend.
If you see him thriving and it makes you feel bad, that is a feeling you should listen to.
Why does his growth make you feel these ways? Are there changes in your life you’d like to make but haven’t yet? And seeing him tackle changes is getting you in your feels?
It’s totally normal. But if you can stop and observe these uncomfortable (and normal) feelings, you’ll be equipped to conquer them once and for all.
When that happens, your ex could win the lottery, and you’d feel joy for him. Even if you never saw a penny.
It’s a tall order, dear reader. But I truly believe in you, and I know you can do this.
Take the pain of seeing your ex-boyfriend change and transform it into something beautiful. If you start today, your future self will thank you.
You got this!
How do you even know your ex-boyfriend is changing?
Did someone tell you, or did you look at his social media? Did you bump into him at the store?
If you’re hurting yourself by exposing yourself to his changes on social media, stop! Don’t self-inflict pain on yourself. That’s exactly what you’re doing when you can’t look away from his social media.
Where are you learning about these changes? Consider tuning out that source temporarily.
